LabelForge Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 31, 2026
LabelForge stores shop-level app configuration, templates, print job records, billing state, and calibration settings needed to run the app. We do not store payment card details or customer personal data for marketing purposes.
1. Introduction
LabelForge ("we", "our", "us") is a Shopify application that helps merchants print barcode and price labels for their products. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
When you install LabelForge we receive and store:
- Shop domain — to identify your Shopify store.
- Product and variant data — titles, SKUs, barcodes, prices, and inventory counts. This data is fetched from Shopify on demand when you print labels and is not stored permanently on our servers.
- Label templates — the layout and element configuration you design within the app.
- Print job records — timestamps, template name, and label count for usage tracking. No product data is stored in print job records.
- Print calibration settings — X/Y offset values you configure in Settings.
- Billing plan — the subscription tier associated with your shop.
We do not collect or store personal information about your customers. We do not store payment card data.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To render and deliver label PDFs when you request them.
- To enforce plan limits (label count, template count).
- To store and retrieve your label templates.
- To track aggregate usage for billing purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties except as required to operate the service:
- Shopify — as the platform provider, Shopify has access to data transmitted through its APIs in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
- Hosting infrastructure — our application and database run on hosted infrastructure that processes your data so the service can operate.
5. Data Retention
We retain your label templates and print job records for as long as your shop has the app installed. When you uninstall LabelForge, all data associated with your shop is deleted within 48 hours via our GDPR shop/redact webhook handler.
6. GDPR and Your Rights
If you or your customers are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Data portability.
Because LabelForge does not store personal data about your customers (only shop-level configuration), most GDPR requests are fulfilled by uninstalling the app. For shop-owner data requests, contact us at support@labelforge.app.
We implement Shopify's mandatory GDPR compliance webhooks: customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Database access is restricted to application servers. We do not log raw product data beyond what is needed for an individual request.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of LabelForge after changes constitutes acceptance.
